An hour into opening, the market is trading soft and in negative territory. There is buying in midcap and smallcap sectors and auto stocks are doing well but technology is under pressure. Sensex is trading at 18048, down 29 points from its previous close, and Nifty is at 5422, down 8 points. CNX Midcap index is up 0.6% and BSE Smallcap index is up 0.5%. The market breadth is positive with advances at 745 against declines of 446 on the NSE.
